Lately, it seems as though the only things I have been seeing and hearing about are all the negative and bad things happening around the world. From major conflicts involving organized violence such as those between Palestine and Israel, to day-to-day crime, shootings, and injustice right in my own hometown, I’ve been exposed to these things now more than ever before- so much so that I wouldn’t even know where to begin writing about each individual issue. However, what many people seem to be forgetting is that these are all a part of the same world that does still have faith, open-mindedness, love, and compassion that continues to keep my faith in humanity alive even today.
As human beings, our faith- our ability to hope and pray and wish and dream- is innate, and it is the only thing that can ignite love in our hearts, help us see the bright side, and inspire us to make a meaningful change. Without this, all we have is what we experience through our senses, and when these things are encompassed with negativity, it can seem quite overwhelming. The important thing to remember is that each of us can do something to make a difference, but that no one person should feel as though they must take on the burden of fixing everything all on their own, because there will always be some negativity in the world. All each person can do is make sure he or she is trying his or her absolute best to do everything in their power to bring something good to this world, and then leave the rest up to God.
