Marriage Equality

We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” For some people, these seem to be just words, not meant to be followed and lived in accordance with.

The most basic human right, along with freedom of faith, is the right to love. The right to love who you want, when you want, in whatever way you choose to love. I have never understood why same sex marriage has even been considered a debateable “issue” that people can argue and have opinions against. Sadly, there are many people who do not seem to see eye-to-eye with me on this, and there ARE legal statutes that prevent human beings of the same sex from marrying each other. There are people that do not and will never understand the basic human right of people to simply love each other.

I will, today and always, stand firm to my belief that people can do whatever they want, as long as it does not hurt or impede on the basic rights of another. It is not a complex idea to understand–live your life, and let others live theirs. Life is short and it is meant to be lived by each human being with good intentions, as fully and as freely as possible.

“[Today and tomorrow], the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on same sex marriage. They will address Proposition 8 and the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), both of which state that a legal marriage is a privilege only afforded to a man and wife, allowing [for] marriage [and] love INEQUALITY!” Please share this and support the most basic human right of LOVE!
