[Belated] Navroz Mubarak!

I know this is a few days late, but I’ve been busy and it’s always better late than never…so, I’d like to wish everyone Navroz Mubarak/Happy Persian New Year! I hope that everyone’s lives are blessed with faith, freedom, love, success, happiness, peace, and a lot of laughter. For those less fortunate, I vow to do everything in my power to make the world a better place in which to live, and pray that God may provide strength to get through difficulties and hope for a better future. I am at such a point of peace and contentment in my life, yet so excited for all the plans (and surprises) I have to look forward to!

I would also like to take a moment to recognize the achievements of one of the greatest all time Bollywood directors, Yash Chopra (1932-2012, RIP). Without him, one of the biggest film industries in entire world would not be what it has become today. He was involved in hundreds of the best movies my generation and the generation before me has loved, cried over, and laughed about, with some of the most well-known actors and actresses in the Bollywood film industry today. Like all of his other movies, I recently fell in love with his last movie, Jab Tak Hai Jaan (Translation: Until I have life?), and just had to share the beautiful irony of it all. I pray that he may rest in peace.

On a [much] brighter note, it is my mother’s 50th (age is nothing but a number–she doesn’t look a day over 30!) birthday today, and I KNOW that no amount of words can adequately express my love and admiration for her. She has done more for me than I can imagine any one person doing for another, and I will always be so grateful to her for being the blessing she has been to me. There is nothing I could ever do to repay her, but I think it is safe to say she is my favorite human being and I wish her nothing but the BEST of everything today and always!
