Quick Update

Life is good. I realized we only have one month left until my last final; after that I’m traveling around the south of Europe. It’s crazy how time flies, and it feels like just recently I was so worried about moving to a new country and starting a new life; now, here I am comfortable calling the castle my home.

For most of this trip, my favorite aspect was that our group of 13 students had no drama; in fact, we were almost like a family, and I loved that. However, after an unpleasant encounter last week that was made out to seem like something else completely has left our group somewhat divided into 2 groups. It centers around one of the girls in particular, one with whom I was slowly becoming friends, one who I had stuck up for before. It is rather unfortunate that everything good from the past few months seems to have been erased because of this one event, but it is a sad truth of life that people will always remember the bad and forget the good. We only have one more month left before the end of this program, and although I am on good terms with mostly everyone, and I do have a few people I am still really close with, it’s not the same as before. I am still going to enjoy this last month to the absolute fullest; I am excited to end off this semester, and the few weeks of traveling I’m doing for the rest of April!
Here is a quote by one of my favorite philosophers to leave you with, a random reminder of the feeling of being alive:

“Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air” -Ralph Waldo Emerson
