Trial & Error

This past summer at camp, I asked my friend why things don’t go our way sometimes if we have free will and are actually in control of our lives. Our conversation went a little something like this:

She told me to put my feet in the air.

I put up one foot and then the other.

She said no, put them up at the same time.

So I jumped.

She said no, put them both up at the same time for a long period of time.

So I sat on a table and let both of my feet dangle in the air.

She said no, put them both up at the same time while standing up.

So, standing back up, I held on the the sides of two tables and pushed my feet up that way.

She said no, put them both up at the same time for a long period of time without holding on to anything.

And I couldn’t do it.

There are many ways we can try to do something, but certain things are just not in our control, because even though we do have free will and intellect and control of our actions, there are other laws in place such as gravity which must work together with these things in order to be successful. In the same way, there are so many things we can try to attain and work hard for and use methods such as the law of attraction as tools to aid us, but we must remain open to the idea that if, we have tried everything in our power, sometimes a situation must be accepted as is.
