Happy Persian New Year’s/Navroz Mubarak/Happy First-Day-Of-Spring! A lot of people ask me why I celebrate the Persian New Year’s if I am from Pakistan, and the short and simple reason for that is because the Imamat (spiritual leadership) in my Ismaili religion has descended from Iran- check out this blog post to learn more about the Persian influence on the Ismaili religion and culture!
I consider myself blessed to have yet another shot at starting the year off right. I have to admit I have not quite lived up to the expectations I had set for myself on January 1, but since then, I have learned what I need to improve on, what I need to focus on more, and what I can change as I evaluate my progress so far. I definitely feel more inner strength and control over my emotions, motivation to stick to healthier eating habits, and continued inspiration to improve upon every aspect of my life.
On a slightly different note, last night I watched the movie, “Unconditional” (available now on Netflix)…unfortunately, I cannot do an adequate review on it like I have for many other movies in the past, simply because words will not do it justice. I will say that it is now officially one of my favorite movies- one of spiritual renewal, resilience in the face of struggle, and most importantly, one of selfless compassion that is sure to inspire anyone to make a difference. In fact, after watching it, I have decided to start volunteering again at Rainbow Village Children’s Shelter right here in my own community, and I will be sure to keep you all updated with that!
I also have one other surprise that I plan on announcing here very soon, so be on the lookout for that! With that, I would like to wish everyone a prosperous new year filled with light, love, health, abundance, success, strength, and endless joy and laughter as you journey towards your own purpose and happiness!
