about fatima

Welcome to my corner of the internet, where you can catch a glimpse of who I am and what my life is all about. Here, I document my journey as a free-spirit of the Universe and share my thoughts and feelings on anything and everything from holistic self-care, relationships, and career, to hobbies, interesting finds and random adventures from my daily life.

I started this blog in 2010 as an online journal to inspire and uplift others and show that as long as you have faith, everything will be okay. I vow to always remain 100% raw and authentic here, so I invite you to my life behind the scenes of Spirit Life. My hope is that you may also find this to be a home of peace and positive energy, and gain a bit of inspiration from my ongoing experiences and lessons learned about faith, love, and the crazy journey that is life.

“Life is short and so am I, but my hair is long and faith is forever.”

I am a thirty-something year old Pakistani-American,  Ismaili, daughter, sister, friend, free-spirit and lifestyle blogger. I am a human being. spiritualist. meditator. unique. authentic. independent. eccentric. optimistic. charismatic. resilient. funny. witty. sarcastic. actually hilarious comedic artist. creative. writer. melomaniac. closet karaoke rapper. traveler. dancer. yogi. altruistic. friendly. compassionate. open-minded. educated. intelligent. ambitious. holistic health nurse. psychology graduate. mindfulness therapist. spiritual coach. entrepreneur. past forgiver. future dreamer. balanced. organized. down-to-earth. laid-back. outgoing. blessed. aspiring world saver. undercover superhero. minimalist. iPhone addict. advice guru. one with nature, rainbows, and the ocean. beach life. hippie vibes. summertime adventurer. moonlight butterfly. a little crazy but full of faith in God and trust in the Universe. light and freedom enthusiast. lover of love, laughter, playing, struggle, the simple things & living fully in each moment.

I believe that the Universal energy from which we come and to which we return and that is ever-present in all living creatures, is a vertical dimension that is more light and powerful than anything we can experience in this transient life, and that spirituality is all of who I am. The horizontal dimension consists of the external identity we have created during our time on Earth, during which such few things truly matter to me: The kind of person I am, including my beliefs and personality, and sharing it with you all. Taking care of my mind and body to attain optimal levels of wellbeing. Receiving love from my family and friends so I can share it with them & spread it to everyone I come across without judgement, connecting with others and fulfilling my purpose. Balancing the responsibilities of meaningful professional and personal goals, living simply and intentionally. And making sure that I make time for simple joys and never take anything too seriously. All we can do is appreciate the positive, let go of the negative which we cannot control, and live fully in the present moment with acceptance, faith, and love.

“Run your fingers through my soul. For once, just once, feel exactly what I feel, believe exactly what I believe, perceive as I perceive, look, experience and examine, and for once, just once…understand.” – Anonymous

Growing up in Dallas, I had a relatively carefree childhood with my parents and younger sister. Upon the passing away of my father when I was 12 years old, I moved to Atlanta with my mom and sister to start a new chapter, where I made some lifelong friends who became like family. Recently, I left behind everything I’ve ever known to start a new journey in Houston, Texas…and just when I thought life couldn’t get any crazier, I lost my sister, my life turned upside down and I had to start all over again.

I learned about the value of life at a young age, and how to be positive when that’s the only choice you have. During my time in Atlanta, I went through a decade-long journey of self-discovery and found the faith I had been searching for for so long. And now, as an EntrepreNurse and lifestyle blogger juggling everything life can possibly throw my way, I am slowly learning the true meaning of love and how to live my best life. I love sharing my life and knowledge as I aspire to inspire you to ignite your inner spark daily!

As a holistic health nurse, MBC therapist and spiritual life coach, and compassionate entrepreneur, I am passionate about helping others lead happier and healthier lives using a biopsychosocial-spirital model, the purpose and foundation which led to the creation of Spirit Life.
