Like Sunday, Like Rain, Like Music

I just finished watching the movie, “Like Sunday, Like Rain”, and the depth and array of emotions I am currently experiencing is too beautiful to not even attempt to express, if only for myself as a reminder of what I am capable of feeling. The movie itself is nothing spectacular- after breaking up with her boyfriend and losing her job, a 23 year-old struggling musician takes a job as a nanny for a 12 year-old wealthy genius who also happens to be cello prodigy. Along the way, the two build an unbreakable and life changing bond and to be honest, the ending is a little abrupt for my liking.

Still, the best way to describe this movie is like the ending of “Titanic” or “The Notebook”, except the whole movie has a similar vibe without involving romance. Although the movie does not involve a complex plot, it is like music: it has no worldly meaning but its beauty has the ability to leave a mark on the soul. But also like music, each individual has different taste and this certainly will not be everyone’s cup of tea. If you can appreciate the intricate compositions throughout and cherish its sweet and simple nature, this is a must-see– as long as you have a box of Kleexex readily available.
