NEW YEAR 2013!

2010 was the easiest year of my life. I had fun classes, worked part-time at the greatest job ever, and spent every moment in between with family, friends, and my sorority sisters. 2011 was perhaps the most fun year of my life. I got to “study” abroad in Europe (aka travel and have fun all day, everyday), and when I came back and realized I was not getting any hours at work, I continued to relax, have fun, and live life without a single care in the world.

So, compared to the past couple of years, 2012 was no picnic. It was neither easy nor was it filled with fun and excitement in a carefree lifestyle. I stayed in Georgia, at home; I worked hard in all my classes, spent much of my time searching for another job, and encountered several difficulties in terms of my health and relationships with family and friends. But 2012 was, no doubt, the strongest year of my life, because I applied who I was and what was most important to me in life, and I had undying faith through it all.

I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in psychology and music, I excelled in all my nursing prerequisites, I got accepted into one of my top choices for nursing school, and I found the perfect job for me-my lifelong dream of wanting to work at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta finally came true! I faced my health related issues with courage, strength, and hope. I faced my conflicts in my relationships with an open mind, a clean heart, and a lot of patience, and in the end it was reinforced how few people can really be trusted. I am happy to have the support of such a big and amazing family, and grateful to have found my true friends that are closest to my heart.

I have absolutely no idea what the upcoming year has in store for me. What I do know is that it will come with its inevitable ups and downs, lots of crazy, and everything in between. But I am ready. I am so thankful for all my opportunities and experiences, and I could not more blessed to know what really matters in life and know who I am in God. I plan to be working, preparing for nursing school, and trying my best to excel in every aspect of my life, but I am so excited to leave the rest to God and see what’s in store for me next!
