Health

“Wellness is much more than merely physical health. It is the full integration of the ‘whole person’ including mental, emotional, spiritual, physical, social, environmental, and occupational factors. Each of these seven dimensions act and interact in a way that contributes to our own quality of life.”

I love health. Mental health, Physical health, diet/exercise, and things that combine both and are part of living a healthy lifestyle, like yoga and the little tips and tricks of living well. This is an understated issue which is not given nearly as much importance in the average American’s daily life as it should be.

The best way to keep your body healthy is to keep up your mental and emotional health. But that is not all; you must also put effort into being happy and at peace. This will give you long life, a good life, and your health effects this greatly. It is important to believe in something higher, a God, or mediation, something of that sort to give peace to your mind, to know that you are not alone.

Next, it is important to live an active lifestyle, doing both things you have to do, as well as saving time for the things you want to do. You have to eat, sleep, work out, and deal with school, work, and other activites. You want to experience and learn new things about life and soak up all it has to offer.

And you should be around your family, friends, and others, to keep yourself living life setting goals and accomplishing them while maintaining healthy interpersonal relationships, realizing are almost 7 billion of us, the same in many ways.

Lastly, you can add things to your physical external body to keep healhty. Other than cognitive and
behavioral therapy as mentioned above (God, Active life, interpersonal relationships/helping others/social support), a good balance of sleep, eating right, and working out are also very beneficial. Working out and eating certain food helps release chemicals such as serotonin, melatonin, and even ecstacy, which are all beneficial to mental health, which in turn betters physcial health.

In terms of physical health, it is important to exercise daily. Cardio helps to improve blood circulation and promote better overall health. Yoga is best to improve flexibility and help your body relax. Strength training is beneficial for toning arms, abs, legs, and the rest of your body even if your intent is not to gain or lose weight. Contrary to popular belief, there is absolutely nothing wrong with working out everyday-as human beings, our bodies are made to be handle hard work!

Diet is of course, another equally as important factor. In my opinion, fad diets are a no-go; in fact, the term “diet” in the sense that it is often used (or misused) can be misleading in itself. Diet is simply the nutrition you get from the food you eat! It is essential to get all of the food groups, including bread, meat/fish/eggs/poultry/nuts, dairy/cheese, fruits, veggies, and even oils and fats, which is sadly already included in most readily available foods these days. The diet you follow is a way of life, and as long as you intake good calories and limit the bad calories, I think most foods are A-Okay!

On a daily basis, you should make sure that your water intake is high and stress level is low. These are oftentimes the most understated yet important factors to good health (along with getting enough Vitamin C and hand washing to prevent illness). Getting enough sleep also strengthens the immune system and is vital for achieving and maintaining optimal health levels.

Natural sources such as sunlight and saint johns wort and remedies can also contribute. And sometimes, things as small as music or pleasurable activites can have an overwhelmingly significant impact.

Health is what makes a person beautiful, helps you feel alive, can make you feel good even when your mental or emotional or spiritual health is not at it’s best. Health is energy, vitality, glowing happiness in some extreme cases, it is life. You are only given one body and it is obligatory that you take care of it because without it, you will not be able to fulfill the rest of your human duties or desires to the fullest.

What there is a lot of research and writing about is physical health, because it affects most, if not all, of the other kinds of health. Good health is having he right diet-eating from each of the food groups, low in fat and cholestrol, with plenty of fluids. It is excercise-flexibility, cardio ability, body tone and wieght and strength training. Health is even sleep-getting not too much orr to little each night.

I would love to go abroad & express my concerns about health and offer solutions to better/improve the overall quality of life or large groups of people. I would want to help provide the resources for this type of center and my highest goal would be to create a general/basic health education center that can continue to educate the public, both adults and youth, on healthy ways of living and benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

Health is the foundation for a better life, a better future, and a better world. You can have all the education in the world, and have the will to love & serve others, but if you’re in bad health then it will prevent you from reaching your full potential and accomplishing your goals to the highest degree. I firmly believe that with faith all dreams are possible, but only in good health can all these dreams can turn into reality. Or at least, without proper physical health it can be very difficult to turn implement any kind of real action plan towards contentment.
