It has been exactly one year since my first life-changing adventure, traveling to a new country and making a real impact. This is the trip that started it all, and I want to share a glimpse of this beautiful experience with you all.
During this trip, I got the amazing opportunity to volunteer at El Faro, the local orphanage. This residential facility is home to about 25 children who range in age between toddlers to pre-teens (2yrs-12yrs old). The “Tias” or caretakers at the orphanage need help with everyday tasks for the children.
Volunteer Activities May Include:
- Helping children learn conversational English
- Teaching basics like colors, numbers, letters and basic math.
- Preparing, serving and helping to feed the younger children
- Create arts and crafts, songs, sports activities with the kids.
